The Hub runs a variety of walking and cycling activities throughout the Stockton area. The project is based in central Stockton, it’s a dedicated one-stop centre providing information, advice and resources for walking and cycling. We’re at 147 High Street, Stockton, TS18 1PL.
The Hub provides free, safe and secure bike storage, including lockers and changing rooms for people travelling into Stockton. We are open from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Guided walks and cycle rides
A variety of regular guided walks and rides set off from the Hub and other locations in the Stockton area. Walks are all local, at a casual pace, and are no more than 90 minutes long. Our bike rides cater for all abilities from returning cyclists and beginners in our ‘Easy Riders’ program to the more adventurous rides.
Information, advice and travel planning
Pop into the Hub where the Active Travel team are on hand to offer advice on walking and cycling routes, free local maps, public transport information and personalised route planning advice.
The Hub offers free half day basic maintenance courses on a Wednesday morning.
We have expert cycling instructors who can help you to build the skills and confidence you need to happily cycle on roads, up to Bikeability Level 3.
Bicycle Recycling Scheme
We gratefully accept donations of bicycles or parts, in any condition, and our team of trained volunteer mechanics give them a new life! We put some up for sale in the Hub, and others we hand over to the community. Since beginning our partnership with the Arrivals Practice in Norton, we have given out over 200 reconditioned bikes to vulnerable members of Stockton’s community. These are made based upon a doctor’s referral and the bikes are reconditioned on our premises by trained volunteers and staff members.
If you have any questions regarding what we do, please call into the Hub or drop us an email or get in touch.
