We run free maintenance classes for anyone keen to learn the basics of fixing their bicycle.
The maintenance courses will teach you how to:
- How to replace and patch an Inner Tube (fix a flat tyre)
- The ‘M-check’ safety check of your bike
- Adjusting gears & brakes
- How to tell when to replace items (brake pads, rims, bearing etc.)
- Adjusting your headset
- What products & techniques to use to care for your bike
The course runs from 9:00am – lunchtime on a Wednesday. They’re fairly informal, and while there’s a lot to fit in in a short time, it’s open to questions throughout. It’s best to bring your own bike to work on, but if you can’t then you’re welcome to use one of ours. Due to limited spaces on the courses we do require that participants book in advance. You can do this by calling us on 01642 617 672, emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or pop in to see us at the Hub, 147 High Street, TS181PL.
