We run free maintenance classes for anyone keen to learn the basics of fixing their bicycle.
The maintenance courses run through:
- How to replace and patch an Inner Tube (fix a flat tyre)
- The ‘M-check’ safety check of your bike
- Adjusting gears & brakes
- How to tell when to replace items (brake pads, rims, bearing etc.)
- Adjusting your headset
- What products & techniques to use to care for your bike
Split into two parts, it runs from 9:30am – 12:30pm on a Wednesday, with the second half of the course at the same time the following Wednesday.
The courses are fairly informal, and while there’s a lot to fit in in a short time, it’s open to questions throughout. If you can’t bring your own bike to work on, you’re welcome to use one of ours.
Due to limited spaces on the courses we do require that participants book on so you can let us know by phone on 01642 617 672, by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or by popping in to see us at the Hub 147 High Street, TS181PL.
