Roundabouts are citied by new and returning cyclists as one of the road features that puts them off riding on the road. The video on this page will show and explain how to approach and ride round a roundabout.
Wherever you live, it’s likely that you have a roundabout nearby. These roundabouts exist to help keep traffic moving safely. When you encounter a roundabout, remember that all traffic including cyclists must move clockwise around it, and that anyone waiting to join the roundabout must give way to traffic already on it. Whenever you reach a roundabout, this traffic should always come from your right.
