Further Information

Parking is available just off Barwick Lane, near Ingleby Mill School, but not at pick-up or drop-off times. It’s indicated by the Blue “P” on the map. If you’re using public transport, Ingleby Barwick and Hilton Village both have bus routes. There is a restaurant/bar (Fox Covert) on route with refreshments and toilets. 3/4 of the route is fabulously scenic with stunning views alongside the River Leven. With this route you can almost dip your toes in the river you are walking that close – you can even see Roseberry Topping and the Cleveland hills on route!

Suitable for walking/running. This route is undulating with a couple of long inclines. There are plenty of flat & descending sections too. Most of the surface is rough and uneven. Quite a few bad tree roots along the trail along the river. It can get extremely muddy when wet, care needs to be taken when walking close to the river in wet conditions. Suitable footwear advised.
